Woodrow Halstead is Board Certified in Criminal Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization. He began his legal career over 20 years ago as a prosecutor for Bexar County, Texas. He received his B.A. from Texas A&M University and J.D. degree from St. Mary’s University School of Law in San Antonio, Texas. For 14 years Woody represented the State of Texas as a prosecutor in thousands of criminal cases ranging from misdemeanors to murders and concluded his prosecution career as the First Assistant for the Bexar County D.A.’s Office. His ability to assess his clients’ cases from both a prosecution and defense perspective enables him to provide invaluable insight to the evaluation of their cases.

In addition to his civilian legal practice, Woody served 12 years as a Judge Advocate in the United States Army Reserve and is currently serving as an officer in the United States Air Force Reserve. Additionally, in 2020, Woody was appointed by the Bexar County Commissioners Court to serve as a part-time Criminal Law Magistrate Judge, assuming a position he had previously held from 2013-2014.
